Wow, am I actually blogging? Only because it's for a good cause.

I happened upon Shopformuseums.com, where you do your regular online shopping and a percentage goes to the museum of your choice at no extra cost! If you don't have a favorite museum in mind, I'd reccomend The Discovery Museum of Bridgeport, CT---where I worked as a teenager and it became like a second home---because it's in danger of closing every year due to lack of funds. All you have to do is start at the site, pick a museum, and off you go! Though I haven't actually used it yet :)

Has anyone else noticed how much the intro to "Let My Love Open the Door" sounds like the Final Fantasy I map music? Or am I just that geeky?

P.S. Welcome to my LJ, Jenn!

I met the cutest doggy yesterday. Her name is Tigger. She's small and bouncy (hence the name) and gets frightened and confused easily. She's the dog of 4 of my fellow actors (yes, I'm acting! scary ain't it?) and she kept on getting in the way. When one of the character's died, she went up to her and licked her. It was so cute I forgot my lines.

It appears I'm writing like a 2nd grader. I think it's time for a nap.

Does anyone have a wireless Gamecube controller they don't want anymore? I really don't feel like paying $35 for one, and my non-name brand one is on the fritz. I'm willing to negotiate on price. Thanks!

Also, is anyone interested in a 10-month (meaning summers off) administrative/secretarial position at my school (a independent secondary school)? It's in the dean's office, working with some very awesome people. Let me know ASAP and I'll forward you the job description.

Best line said to me by an interviewer ever:

"Excuse me for a moment. I need to take the rubber ducks out of the toilets".

Oh, senior skip day.

Has anyone here ever sold anything on eBay/dealt with Paypal? I didn't realize until I looked into it today how much eBay charges you little fees everywhere. Also, I've heard some horror stories about Paypal and I'm kind of reluctant to give them my bank account # (plus they also charge!). I don't suppose they can cut me a check? ;)

A must see

I saw a great movie this weekend. And no, it wasn't Snakes on a Plane. It was The Illusionist. You all should see it: it's one of the best movies I've seen this year. It starts a bit slow but the ending is fantastic. Here's some info and a really long trailer: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/illusionist/

If anyone else sees it/has seen it, let me know your thoughts.

I have a new favorite theater: the Capitol Theater in Arlington. I had never been there before Friday and Matthew and I wanted to see Prarie Home Companion and it was one of the few theaters in the area that still had it. 1)Since it was a matinee, the tickets were cheap: only $4.75! Regular tickets are only $6.50! 2)Food was also cheap, only $2.50 for a small popcorn that was the size of a medium at other theaters 3)There was no lot [the only negative] but plenty of off-street parking. Though because of the storm trees had fallen across the road of the two streets next to us, but luckily not ours. 4)I didn't even have to feel cheap asking for tap water: they had a pitcher of cold water and cups on the food counter! 5)Even though it's a really old theater, there was half stadium, half traditional seating.

So yeah, the theater rocked. And the movie was mediocre (the songs were good but the plot was stupid), but it was about what I expected.

Last night I saw Clerks II. I wasn't too big of a fan of Clerks (I don't like movies without a plot), but the EW review said it had "some plot" so that was enough for me! The movie was enjoyable and better than the first (because of the plot, of course) and Jay still cracks me up. He's so zany.

No other movies for a while but I'm seeing Debbi in As You Like It tonight. Wish her a happy birthday if you see her (and, er, know her), her bday's tomorrow!

Need a temp or temp to perm (or if you're really lucky, perm) job? One of my old staffing firms is looking for new people, and I get a referral bonus if you get a job through them. Let me know if you're interested, and/or please pass this onto your Boston-area friends. They do mostly administrative/receptionist/data entry stuff (yes, it's boring, but it's money!).

Is anyone looking to sell their Gamecube (perhaps upgrading to a Revolution or something)? Let me know: I may be interested in buying.

So i just had an awesome evening and decided to post about it. Matt, Debbi, Josh A., Jojo, Laura, Sally and I decided to try out the Legends bar down the street for karaoke. We had no idea if it would be a sketchfest or not, but it turns out just to be a local bar (and me being a local and aspiring townie, all was good). So we all had a great time singing and dancing and cheering. We each got to do two songs, and at the end there was a mini dance party. Debbi, Josh and I ended up closing down the house. At the end the dj Patrick gave me a big hug and said that he'd love for us to come back as we really had great attitudes and were supportive (like dancing all silly and cheering for everyone). Some of the other locals thanked us too!

The drinks were also really reasonable: $4 beers and $5 mixed drinks. You really can't beat that (tho there wasn't much alcohol in the mixed drink, but oh well).

So we should definitely do this again. Not sure when the next time I can go is, but it was a really fun night. My ears are ringing and my throat is sore but it was worth it. Sorry y'all missed it.

Today is apparently senior skip day at the school where I work. After the first period, seniors climb into cars, drive really fast around the quad (where cars technically aren't allowed) pressing their horns, and then go off to lunch somewhere together.

My high school senior class was so lame and lazy that we couldn't even decide on a skip day.

Do any of you have "senior skip day" stories from high school?

Chili's does in fact serve chili, but it's not on the menu. Go fig.

Next assignment: Does the Macaroni Grill serve macaroni? I don't think it was on the menu.

Can anyone think of any others?
